Three Chelsea players also make Germany squad for Euro 2020

After a most disappointing 2018 World Cup, where they didn’t even make it out of the group stages, Germany will be looking to do much, much better at this summer’s European Championships. The last two times, in both 2016 and 2012, they had reached the semifinals, and when looking at their squad, that surely is another strong possibility.

Among the 26 announced this morning are three Chelsea players as well, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Antonio Rüdiger — fully third of the nine non-Bundesliga players on the roster. And that’s not counting former Chelsea prospect Jamal Musiala, who gets the nod as the youngest player and only teenager in the squad, with only two previous senior caps to his name. Kai Havertz is the second youngest at 21.
